Kisses From Kelsey!

I guess because of the alliteration, we have always used the phrase "Kisses for Kelsey" followed of course by a great big kiss. How cute is this video??? She loves her little baby doll.

"What is that on her head?" Daddy asked.

Kelsey is sporting her brand new pink bow compliments of her Great Auntie Paulette! When Kelsey took a look at herself in the mirror, she had nothing but big smiles in response! More bows have been ordered and will be coming with her Grandma (Michael's Mom in just a few weeks). Thanks also goes out to Alyson's mom who made Kelsey this adorable pink blanket!

"Big Strong Girl!"

"Big Strong Girl, Big Strong Girl, Kelsey is a Big Strong Girl!"

Nearly 12 Weeks

Kelsey is almost 12 weeks! We really cannot believe how much she has changed. She does something new everyday. She definitely prefers to be sitting up these days, with help of course. She is making lots of new sounds and has begun to giggle though we are still waiting for that belly laugh. She loves being in the kitchen, I think she might grow up to be a chef!

We're Rich!!!

I know that some of you figured we were, but I just wanted to confirm! We are so loaded that we can spend 32 Riyals on a box of Honey Nut Cheerios! That is $8.80!!!! For a box of cereal??? Seriously! Michael has proven over and over again that he cannot go to the grocery store alone. I once sent him for 4 potatoes and he returned with 5 potatoes totaling $10!!!! OMG! They were US Idaho potatoes and they were the best potatoes we have had since arriving in Doha. But we can't spend $10 on 5 potatoes!!!

Now, I can't even allow him to shop WITH ME!!! So yesterday we went to QMart and he walked up to the cart with 2 boxes of cereal. Now in all fairness, he did ask if those boxes of cereal were okay. They were Frosted Flakes and Honey Nut Cheerios. I said, sure of course. But was that a huge mistake!!! Now many of you are wondering why Michael asked if the cereal was acceptable. Familiar products here are often manufactured in the Middle East and to be honest sometimes are not tasty to our tummies (compare the pictures of the two cereal boxes, can you tell the difference?). So you might find Fruit Loops here, but they are manufactured in Saudi and they are just not the Fruit Loops we have grown to love. ;-) I personally have found that Honey Nut Cheerios and Frosted Flakes are acceptable regardless of where they are made and told Michael that they would be fine.

The sticker above is placed on items imported from the US. Probably warns the consumer that it was not produced in the GCC. These stickers are usually conveniently placed directly over any type of cooking or preparation instructions. Where else would you place a large sticker that rips the package apart when you pull it off?

Needless to say, next time I will take a closer look! This morning I went down to get a bowl of cereal and was shocked to have a 32 Riyal price sticker looking at me! Oh well...it is just money!

Sandstorm-a-Coming!

One minute I had the window open and the next I was racing to shut it. Out of nowhere came a very windy and powerful dust storm! It was really amazing (and for those of you who know me...I just love it...rushed to call Michael and excitedly explain what was happening!!!).

Well as amazing as a sandstorm can be! The dust is so fine that even with a screen, within a matter of seconds, your house will be covered. I have learned this the hard way one too many times. ;-)

I received classified information that the latest restaurant to hit Doha is a Quiznos!!! Kelsey and I were going to go and find it today...we will have to see if we can try tomorrow!

Baby Tae Bo-10 Weeks

Michael is teaching Kelsey how to do Tae Bo! Check out her newly learned poses!

Too Much!!!

My fellow friend and blogger, Sybil, must be bored! Seriously, this is great! Thanks Sybil!

Macey and Kelsey

Many of you have asked how Macey is around Kelsey. Some of you remember that when I adopted Macey, she had been dropped off at the Pearland Animal Shelter because her previous owners had a baby and Macey didn't handle the new addition well. So we were pretty nervous about how she would do when Kelsey arrived because she has been the center of our world for the last 5 years. Macey does not care to hear Kelsey cry though she now seems to deal with that better. She is very protective of her baby sister and gets alarmed when she doesn't know where she is. She is scared of Kelsey's jerky movements, but when she is still she likes to get a good sniff of her as seen in the picture below. Best of all, Kelsey has brought to the house some really cool toys! Macey has really enjoyed checking them out and Kelsey is happy to share!
